Ann Skelton leads Mediation Partners, a collaborative network of Mediators and Dispute Resolution practitioners.  Ann is a:

• Fellow of AMINZ (Mediation) and 2021 Recipient of the Ann Edge Memorial Prize for Excellence in Fellowship Mediation

• Mediation Panel Member AMINZ

• Council Member of AMINZ and Convenor of the Christchurch AMINZ Network

• Holds a practising certificate as a barrister

• Member of the Association of Workplace Investigators

• Panel member of the Ministry of Education Arbitration Panel, Natural Hazards Cover Dispute Resolution Panel, Retirement Village Disputes Panel

• Facilitator for Expert Determinations

• Experienced in a wide range of legal, mediation/negotiation and dispute resolution forums including insurance litigation, employment law, in-house advisory and governance, human resources and employee relations, a Disputes Tribunal Referee, Chair of Complaints Assessment Committees for the Real Estate Agents Authority and has run her own dispute resolution consultancy

• Mediation experience in a wide range of subject area expertise including insurance disputes, consumer law, construction law, natural disaster disputes, employment law, professional indemnity, family wealth including estates and relationship property, community issues, sports law

With a litigation background, Ann knows the pitfalls and devastating effect unresolved disputes have on people and organisations.  Ann also knows litigation is only a successful and positive process for a very small percentage of litigants- others become disillusioned 
by the delay, cost and feeling that the process is not designed for the people it is meant to serve.

After many years mediating disputes, Ann sees how powerful resolution of even the smallest dispute can be for anyone.  Now Mediation Partners brings that same pragmatic approach to a wide variety of disputes.
